free association(B)

cutting in most films is essentially a cutting out of what is not interesting(the "weak" moments) or not pertinent( the "irrelevant" moments). this is the modern editing technique which conceals the most radical "conservatism".
instead of cutting, we should add and by adding we should enlarge and in by doing so we will "lighten" the film. in this way there will be the paradox that by lengthening the film the film will become more brief and tremulous/the film will be longer but will seem to happen in an instant.
why?
the strict ordering implied in cutting is for the most part an act of underlining (this) and thereby an act of exclusion (of that). it forces things: thus it prevents them from "arriving" by themselves,
arriving as if by accident or
by chance.
