an accident waiting to happen

while they' re having sex, peter repeatedly tells alice, "i want you, want you." after a few minutes, alice gets up, says to peter, "you' ll never have me," and walks into the nearby cabin. as she enters the cabin, peter transforms back to fred madison. at the moment when peter is about to "have" alice, he loses her: the fantasy dissolves, and he falls back into his identity before the fantasy. this transformation reveals, as zizek notes, "that the fantasmatic way out was a false exit, that in all imaginable/possible universes, failure is what awaits us.

and once the accident has occured, the cleaners instantly appear on the scene to recycle the remainings and to clear off the streets as there are other accidents that are due to happen sometime later.

the cleaners orchestrate the accidents and so they are always there
and always prepared

the accident has always "occured", even in the present tense it is always past

"the cleaners are always there and always prepared" but definately it is not them who orchestrate the accidents.
victims of accidents and cleaners can not be not identical.

However sometimes they change roles. One can be the cleaner for someone else's accident and vice versa.

Concerning present vs past, as W.S.B once recorded "the present is tense, the past is imperfect"

mr. bill
and johnny the thief
and many other word boys say:
to make something that will have a life of it's own, that can put me in real danger, a danger which i willingly take on myself

let the accident happen
make it happen
failure is avoiding the accident

in pitch dark i go walking in your landscape.
broken branches trip me as i speak.
just because you feel it doesnt mean it's there.
just because you feel it doesnt mean it's there.

there's always a siren
singing you to shipwreck.
(don't reach out, don't reach out)
steer away from these rocks
we'd be a walking disaster.
(don't reach out, don't reach out)

just because you feel it doesn't mean it's there.
(there's someone on your shoulder)
just because you feel it doesn't mean it's there.
(there's someone on your shoulder)

there there

why so green and lonely?
heaven sent you to me.

we are accidents
waiting waiting to happen.

we are accidents
waiting waiting to happen.
